Reviews of High Point Guesthouse

I’m going to start with the good, segue into the bad and then finish with the ugly.
The Good:
1. Super clean and beautifully laid out.
2. The directions were easy to follow and came in a timely manner
3. The price point was fair, especially for the area
4. Great view and such a nice deck/BBQ space
5. One level, which is nice for some of us with mobility issues
The Bad:
1. We have a Nissan Altima and it’s not considered low slung by any means. The driveway is at such an angle that the car scraped it’s underside hard in the driveway entrance so much that we didn’t feel it was safe. We had to park (and unload) in the street.
2. Both the shower and the tub need grab bars. They are super slippery and dangerous
3. The high sinks in the bathrooms won’t work if you have kids. I’m 5’4” and found their height uncomfortable.
4. A comfy deep chair apart from the sofa in the living room would be great. Just a sofa is a little odd especially if you have people there who aren’t family.
The Ugly:
1. We knew we’d be checking out at 11am as that was what was expected.
We are responsible adults after all.
My husband had been hauling our stuff to the street (since we couldn’t park in the driveway-see above) and I’d been doing last minute checking to make sure we got everything and the place was pristine.
At 10:59am (10:45am according to the clock above the stove, but I grabbed up my cell phone to check for certain) we received a very firm knock at the door.
It was the housekeeper.
Apparently there isn’t even a grace period of 10 minutes as she stood with the door open and stared wordlessly at us. Talk about uncomfortable and unnecessary!
This situation led to a discussion amongst ourselves that we don’t think we will be renting another place from this company again, no matter how much we liked it.
This was our last impression and unfortunately it’ll be a lasting one.

Nice and clean and the decor was beautiful.
